Fiber Trend Clogs

The Stats:

Yarn: I used Paton's Merino Wool. The largest women's size took less than 2 skeins of the cuff / sole color, and less than 1 of the upper color. You hold the yarn double for the entire slipper. I used kool-ade dyed fisherman's wool (done like this link) for the bright reddish/blue pair. They didn't felt quite as quickly as the Paton's.
Needles: Bamboo size 13 circulars.
Pattern: The fiber trends clog pattern. I think you have to get it at local yarn shops?
Started: Sometime in October 2007.
Completed: November 25, 2007. They've been knitted for a while, I just had to get to the felting part.
Notes: Another great pattern. They knit up pretty quickly. I liked it!

My long sleeved shrug

The Stats:

Yarn: Lion Brand Microspun, color: ebony, two and a half or so skeins.
Needles: Knit Picks Options, sizes 4 and 7, I think!
Pattern: Glampyre Knits OSW free pattern, with long sleeves added.
Started a LONG time ago!!!!
Frogged and restarted: June 7, 2007
Completed: June 16, 2007
Notes: This is a really quick pattern, I started the long sleeves knitting flat, and quickly decided not to finish. The idea of seaming two long sleeves was not a good one for me. I left the poor shrug sitting for at least a year, and finally decided to do the sleeves in the round, but then I worried about my gauge and what-not. So I ripped and restarted. I'm glad I did. I wore this at the 4th of July Parade and see myself wearing it a lot more! I love it!

Bootie and Bonnet Set

The Stats:
Yarn: TLC Baby, Acrylic and Nylon, soft, color White Sparkle (but it looks like baby blue to me)
Needles: size 2 bamboo dpns for the booties, and size 3 bamboo circular for the hat
Patterns: Christine's Baby Booties, free pattern here, Hello Yarn's top down bonnet
Started and Completed: June 2007
Notes: I love these patterns. I didn't put the ears or anime face on the bonnet, just left it as a simple quick gift for whatever baby comes along next. Super quick and cute! There is another picture of the set on my creepy baby doll, here. LOL

Baby Steps ~ Take 2

The Stats:

Yarn: Moda Dea Sassy Stripes, color: Crush. It is acrylic, but I think it makes great booties and hats.
Needles: size 2 bamboo dpns
Pattern: Christine's Baby Booties, free online
Started: May 27? Maybe. I have to start writing these things down!!
Completed: May 29, 2007 including the weaving of ends and the icord ties.
Notes: I love this pattern and the adorable booties that you end up with in such little time. I have heard that they stay on little baby feet really well, but I haven't stuck them on a baby to see, yet. I made these for a friend's tiny little girl.

The Stats:

Yarn: Bernat Sox Yarn. I think it is the Crazy Hot color, and a turquoise color for the bottoms. It is acrylic, but pretty soft.
Needles: size 2 bamboo dpns
Pattern: Christine's Baby Booties, free online
Started: May 26 (?)
Completed: May 27, (I think!) for the knitting ~ May 29 for the icord ties, and the weaving of the ends.
Notes: These are for a girl I graduated high school with. (Girl?) Hehe. She's having her first baby in November. How sweet and exciting, huh? There are more pics of these booties on my other blog.

My Soap Socks

The Stats:

Yarn: Any feltable yarn. I've been using my hand-dyed yarn, Paton's Wool, LB Fisherman's wool, Paton's SWS (the color I used bled), LB Landscapes yarn. Whatever I have that will felt.
Needles: Knitpicks Options (of course) I think I've been using 5s and 8s, depending on the yarn.
Pattern: I made up my own. I do need to write it down still!
Time: These don't take very long at all. They are one of my favorite take-along projects. Just like socks for feet, I usually have one on the needles all of the time.
Notes: I have a bunch of these for sale at My Etsy Shop, with my yarn. Everyone who has used them so far has loved them. Or at least that's what they've said! They make the soap lather really well, and last longer. The wool gives you a little exfoliation. As you use the soap, the wool felts and turns into a solid piece of fabric around the soap. I love knitting and using these. They also make wonderful gifts.
More posts on my soap socks can be seen here.
edit 3-25: I have discovered that some of the dyes and the soaps react and run a little bit when you first use the soap. You may have colorful suds, but no one has gotten dyed hands. The colors of the yarn may fade a little bit, too, but it takes quite a while. I've been using my soap since December and it isn't faded, and the suds aren't colorful anymore. :( These are still great projects, maybe I need a lighter scented soap or something.

Pattern: Topi from knitty.com

Completed: March 3, 2007
Notes: I love this pattern, even though I don't like w&t that much. I think if I knew how w&t worked, it wouldn't be so weird to me. I made this for my best friend and the Get Stitchy! By orders I mean, my family is ordering me to knit them all one. hehe In the last picture on the right you can also see the matching bracelet my LD made for her Aunt Wheeza!

Fetching Mitts

The Stats

Yarn: Tan Paton's Merino Wool, Hand dyed by me with kool-aid and food coloring
Needles: Clover bamboo dpns US size 4
Pattern: Fetching Mitts from knitty
Started: February 24, 2007
Completed: February 28, 2007
Notes: I had these done by Monday, but I wove in the ends on the 28th. Good thing I made a gauge swatch, because I think the pattern calls for a size 6 needle! Must have been from using different yarn than the pattern calls for. Super quick, fun knit. I like these ones a lot. I'll probably wear them for St. Patrick's Day, with the matching hat, and then let LD have them. She loves them!

Marji Scarf

The Stats

Yarn: Jo Sharp Rare Comfort Kid Mohair
Georges Picaud Super Palace
Muench Yarns Cleo
Katia Gatsby Lux; All from Marji!
Needles: Size 8 circulars, metal ones, I can't remember the brand.
Pattern: A neat scarf pattern that Marji sent with the yarn, CO 250 sts. and knit, basically let the yarns do all the work.
Started: October 2, 2006
Completed: February 27, 2007
Notes: I swear I am not the world's slowest knitter! I caught some startitis this fall and cast on for way too many projects! This means I did get another UFO done for the UFO along I'm in. The pictures do not show how absolutely spectacular this yarn is.

Thank you, Marji, for the wonderful gift! I love it!

Completed: February 4, 2007
Notes: I loved this pattern, even though I don't like w&t that much. I think if I knew how w&t worked, it wouldn't be so weird to me. I should have made the medium, as its a little big. I always seem to think my head is bigger than it really is. I made this for the Get Stitchy Green Hat Knit-Along. I'm going to wear it to a St. Patrick's Day Party in March! Fun!
